Non-Premium Bearing Rider (Agent User)

Overview of a Non-Premium Bearing Rider

  • Once a bond is purchased, the bond will be in-force.  The bond page will display an array of information concerning the bond such as the basic bond configuration criteria, premium and penalty values, account and agency information, the answers from underwriting questions, etc.

  • The information on a bond may be altered via a rider.  Within Tinubu Surety Solution for Carriers (TSC) there are two types of riders: non-Premium Bearing Riders (nPBR) and Premium Bearing Riders (PBR).  nPBRs are used for basic modifications of non-financial data, such as the applicant’s name, address, telephone number, etc.  This action is typically allowed to be used by more users than the PBRs, which are usually reserved for CSRs and Admin type users.  The agent user will not be able to make Premium Bearing Riders (PBR) to bonds.

Submit Non Premium Rider

  • Select Submit Non Premium Bearing Rider from the action tab of the bond.

  • Select Do N-PBR

N-PBR

  • After submitting the action, the N-PBR confirmation page will load.  This page will include the bond page information in editable form.  Although the premium, penalty, commission amount, etc. will appear in the Premium section; these fields will not be adjustable.

  • Any nPBR questions applied to this bond configuration will appear at the bottom of the page.

  • After all adjustments are made, submit the N-PBR action with the Submit button at the bottom of the page, or with the Submit Non Premium Bearing Rider button at the top of the page to confirm the action, or Cancel to return to the bond without completing the action.

N-PBR Actions

  • Since rules may be applied to N-PBRs, the N-PBR will be processed by the TSC decision engine once the action is submitted.  There can be three outcomes to the N-PBR action.

Auto-Approval

  • The N-PBR passes all auto-approval rules and the changes are completed.

Auto-Rejection

  • The N-PBR meets one or more auto-rejection rules, the N-PBR will be rejected and the user will be returned to the bond page.

Referral

  • The N-PBR does not pass all auto-approval rules and the N-PBR will be placed in a referred state.

  •  If an N-PBR is referred, authorized users (not an Agent User) may then perform the following actions on the referred N-PBR.

    • Approve N-PBR: the user may approve the N-PBR and the changes will be completed.

    • Reassign N-PBR: the user may reassign the referred N-PBR to another authorized user to make a determination.

    • Reject N-PBR: the user may reject the N-PBR.  The changes will then be dropped, and the user will be returned to the bond page.

  • If a renewal exists on the current bond, the changes from this rider may be pushed to the renewal as well.

  • Use the Print tab to print documents if desired.
