Existing Bond Configuration Error
What if the Bond Configuration Already Exists?
Any time you copy a bond configuration, if another configuration exists containing those same five characteristics, youwill get the “configuration already exists” error. When you received the timeout error when copying the configuration, the core defining elements of the bond type were already created – the elements from the Configure Bond Type, Terms and Details screens -- so you will be unable to create another copy, as it does already exist.
Five characteristics make a bond configuration unique are company, bond class, bond category, state and obligee.
One option is to create a dummy category within the same class as the failed copy, maintain that bond type and change its class to the dummy category. Therefore, it no longer will have the same five defining characteristics as the one you ultimately want, so you could attempt to copy the bond configuration again (after reading below). Then inactivate the dummy category from the Reference Tables area to make that configuration unavailable for purchase by agents.
