Build a Bond Error- Duplicate Entries
As your team is building certain bonds the system is throwing errors because of duplicate entries being made. There are five core pieces that make up a bond configuration:
Company
Bond Class
Bond Category
State
Obligee
For example, let’s say I already have the following configuration built in my system:
Company – Surety Company A
Bond Class- Probate & Fiduciary
Bond Category- Administrator
State- Wisconsin
Obligee- *Wisconsin Generic Obligee
Now, if I try and go through the Build A Bond process and make these SAME EXACT choices above, the system will throw an error. There are currently two ways that a user can make duplicate entries:
The user didn’t know that this configuration was already built and simply tried to create the same entry. Once this error is received the user needs to navigate back to the Main Menu and then select Maintain Bonds. From here the user needs to search and see if the configuration already exists. Once found, the user can make modifications as necessary to the configuration.
When building a bond configuration it’s possible to submit a screen more than once on accident. For example, let’s say I just filled out the Terms screen and I am now ready to submit and move on to the next screen. If I accidentally hit the “submit” button twice (fairly quickly) the system will produce an error. On the first click the system saves the configuration. On the second click, because the configuration was just saved, the system thinks that it’s an existing configuration and will produce an error. Should this occur, just like in example #1 above, simply go to Main Menu, and then select Maintain Bonds and search for the bond you were just trying to create. Because it is now saved you will find it and can continue building the configuration from the Maintain Bonds area.
